Since today is Thanksgiving, I thought I’d share a few parts of life we can reflect on and express appreciation for.
- You and your family’s health
The saying “health is wealth” is 100% spot-on. Our abilities to move our bodies, nourish ourselves with good food, and develop a positive mindset are foundations that help us navigate life. Be grateful for all the parts of you that are well this Thanksgiving.
- Your access to basic necessities
If you have access to food, clean water, shelter, and clothes, you are more fortunate than you think! It’s such a blessing to have reliable access to these necessities so that you can enjoy them fully and free up your mind to focus on activities and relationships.
And if you’re reading this blog post, you’re more fortunate than many people around the world who can’t read or don’t have Internet access.
- Your senses
Our senses allow us to experience life on a richer level. Think of the earthy smell of the air after it rains, the sight of vibrant pink, purple, and orange sunsets, the crashing sound of ocean waves, the softness of a fleece blanket, and the taste of your favorite foods.
Don’t these sensory experiences add so much more spice to life?
- Nature
Being able to step outside, breathe fresh air, and take in all of the sights, sounds, and smells of the world is a simple yet incredibly beautiful part of life — be sure to cherish it.
- Life itself
Life is a gift — it gives us the ability to make memories, follow our passions, and leave the world better than we found it. Take advantage of the time you have here to experience it fully.
As you can see, there is no shortage of things to be grateful for. Start with the small things and work your way up, and you will find that you’re blessed in so many ways.
